The All-on-4® technique involves placing four implants—which are titanium screws that fit within your jawbone and replace the root part of missing teeth—along the bottom or top of your mouth.
After the titanium has bonded to the jawbone a full arch of teeth—yes, an entire row of top or bottom teeth!—will be fitted onto the four implants to fully restore your smile. Patients often report that All-on-4® implants are much more stable and comfortable than traditional dentures.
Additionally, this procedure generally does not require bone grafting.
The ideal patient for All-on-4® tooth implants is missing the majority of their top and/or bottom teeth, although every patient is different. Patients who are missing fewer teeth might consider traditional implants.
Similarly to regular dental implants, All-on-4® first involves the installation of titanium screws into the jawbone. A temporary set of teeth will be fitted onto the implants while they adhere to the bone.
Several months later, after the healing process is complete, permanent teeth will be placed upon the implants.
